The Lost Sessions project began in 2000 as an attempt to fuse atypical sounds with solid, smart electronics. This project was unfortunately shelved in 2000 when Garcia underwent a series of back surgeries. Garcia thankfully re-discovered the neglected album in 2007, and mastered the tracks with better fidelity and sensibilities. Lost Sessions is now complete and serves as a rare treat for Garcia fans: a glimpse into the basic primordial elements of the artist's work.
