Tracey and Travis of Rock Science join Randy, who just so happens to be in the studio with Myke mixing the new Mice in Cars record. Beer and hummus are consumed into the live microphones while the rag-tag quartet makes off-color jokes about everything from NPR, to Myke’s Asian heritage. Somewhere along the way, a little music gets played, some upcoming shows and releases get plugged and everyone is safe in bed circa 5:00am. This is rock and roll, people.

NNXT – SHUT YOUR TRAPPER KEEPER EP
This is a very fun collection of tunes, and a strong debut from Atlanta’s NNXT. The vocals are ridiculously catchy, tongue-in-cheek, and right in line with modern narcissistic club culture, only they are sung by a classically trained musician with equal parts contempt and reverence for that scene. NNXT has yet to play a live show, but we’re certain when she does, this self recorded/self-produced little batch of songs will take on a monumental life of their own.
VEGAN COKE – UNTZBENON EP
Vegan Coke is a band currently on the “up and up” in Atlanta. These guys are super nice and super hard-working, albeit crusty and slightly crass fellows (we mean that in the best possible way.) They recently made their first EP available on-line and it’s brutally good. We find it to be especially good when an epic task needs addressing — sort of like a Braveheartian war cry, if you will. Please listen loud!
HIP TO DEATH – NO WAVE SINGLE
Though it’s just one song, it is a testament to blissful hearing damage all over. Hip to Death are a great live band that somehow manages to fuse surf videos with wild flourishes of guitar noise, precision drumming and dubby pick-bass lines. Add to that a swatch of fuzzy vocals, some crashing waves, and you get the recorded interpretation of their hypnosis-inducing live show. Plus they are just so damn beautiful.
